Sample Podium Introduction For Bill Cole

Thank you so very much for agreeing to introduce me. When I arrive I'd love to be able to spend a few moments rehearsing the introduction together. I have found, over numerous speeches, that this particular introduction is very successful in making the audience receptive to my program. Here are some tips to make the introduction go smoothly.

1. Please make sure there is enough stage light for easy reading of this page.
2. Read directly from this -- no need to memorize -- the audience will be fine with you reading this.
3. Leave the introduction on the lectern when done introducing me.
4. Turn in my direction and lead applause as you wait at the podium to meet me.
5. Shake hands and pass behind me as you exit the platform.

Thank you so much for your help in setting the mood for excellence and professionalism to begin my presentation.

Today, Bill Cole will give us some insights and ready-to-use success strategies on improving our mental toughness as "speaking Olympians".

Bill's journey into the world of mental game peak performance began at age 12 when he was an all-star little league pitcher.

He threw a near perfect game in one series contest and then went right out the next time and pitched pathetically.

At that moment, he wanted to know how is it that he could pitch so well one day and then fail so miserably the next.

Thus began his life-long study of mental game peak performance psychology.

Little did he know then, in 1968, that he would, 35 years later, become the Peak Performance Coach for the #1 nationally-ranked Stanford Baseball Team, and help them reach the finals of the College World Series.

Bill is an award-winning scholar, wrote the book Tennis -The Mental Game and has over 200 published articles to his credit.

He's coached at the highest levels of big-time college athletics and major-league pro sports. For three years Bill was the Sport Psychology Coach for the Israeli Davis Cup Team. He's coached on the ATP Men's Tennis Tour, including Wimbledon and the US Open.

Bill is founder and CEO of William B. Cole Consultants, a consulting and coaching firm that helps individuals and companies realize the great bottom-line and personal benefits from being as mentally tough as top-performing star athletes.

Bill is here with us today to help us learn how to become more mentally tough speakers and to handle the dreaded psych-out.

Please welcome our speaker, Bill Cole.
