Six Secrets To Help You Score The Job Of Your
Dreams

When it comes to the interview game, it is as
important to know what not to do, as it is important to know what
to do. Here are six not-so-obvious interview strategies that can
help you cross the finish line ahead of your competition.
1. Do Your Homework: You need to get on the Internet, call
people, read press releases and do some serious research so the
interviewer knows you are different. It is not their job to describe
the company to you. You tell them what you know, and then ask probing,
intelligent questions.
2. Match Yourself To The Culture: Make sure you know how
to dress, talk and act before you walk in the front door. Simple,
but vital. Control how you come across.
3. Don't expect to be "Nerve-Free": You should feel a bit
amped and on edge before the interview, so don't expect to be placid,
and don't set a goal of being 100% stress-free. It isn't going to
happen. Instead, stay as calm as possible and work through the nerves.
4. Realize You Only Get One Time To Make A First Impression:
You are "on a first date" and you had better be on your best behavior.
5. Interview Them As Much As They Interview You: Be different
by being collegial, acting like a valuable consultant and by asking
questions that show your value and how you can help their company.
6. Ask For The Business And Close The Sale: Probably 95%
of all job candidates do NOT ask for the job, or state how much
they want the job. They simply assume the interviewer knows this.
Don't make that mistake. Make yourself standout and ask for the
job.
Be smart. Plan smart. Put your best foot forward and get the job
you want.
