The Psychology Of The Job Interview
Avoid Stepping On These Five Dangerous Landmines

The interview is almost always an edgy and uncomfortable
place. But you need to be comfortable and come across your best.
How do you do that? Prepare, know the interview rules, and be aware
of yourself in the moment. Here are five major land mines that can
"blow your chances".
1. STOP Assuming That You Either Have The Job In The Bag, Or
That It Is A Lost Cause: It is almost impossible to determine
how things are going in most interviews.
2. STOP Assuming The Interviewer Does Not Like You: The unsmiling
interviewer may have had a bad day, or bad week, or they are a very
serious person. Do not let them rent space in your head. Stay poised
and don't assume anything.
3. STOP Thinking That Preparing Well Will Make You Seem Stiff,
Scripted Or Artificial: People who are afraid to prepare choke
in the interview. They also don't know what to say. Preparation
is King to make you feel confident.
4. STOP Dressing So You Are Comfortable: Yes, you want to
feel good, but making a good impression is far more important. Be
strategic in dressing to impress.
5. STOP Looking At The Clock: This makes it look like you
can't wait to get the heck out of Dodge.
Psychology is your secret edge in the interview arena. Know how
things operate in this game and play to win.
